Callegari instruments are Chinese made for distribution through Arcos Brazil and have three tiers of quality: Camilo Callegari instruments are made entirely with Chinese wood; Ettore Callegari, with Chinese maple and European Spruce; and their top tier, Salvatore Callegari are crafted entirely from European tonewoods following Stradivari, Amati, and Guarneri patterns. This Stradivari model Salvatore Callegari was crafted in 2006 and represents in mint condition at 17 years of age. At this price point, these instruments are most directly competitive in standard with the Jay Haide models. Tastefully antiqued, delicately shaded, and already broken in, with a voice that is clear and colorful, with a supple, mellow quality. Professionally set up and adjusted, with Parisian eye accents to the ebony fittings and Dominant strings.
