Knopf Workshop Violin Bow, 19th Century
Many of these sticks are referred to as “school of” as opposed to “workshop of, altogether encompassing a line of inexpensive commercial bows with the balance pitched toward the frog and more visibility prominent and definitive features. This particular bow has a batch number on the bottom facet of the handle and the tool marks are consistent with what one would expect to see from the lower lines of the Knopf workshop. These commercial grade bows are inexpensive and consistent. This particular stick has seen a complete restoration and is 100% ready to play. Balanced at 60.4 grams.
