Circa 1900 7/8 Violin from Schonbach
With a back length 351.5mm, this 120+ year old violin is on the larger side of 7/8, morel comparable to a smaller full size violin except for its more petite bouts. If shifting around a full size violin proves difficult because of smaller hands or shorter arms, this violin is sure to be a pleasing solution which doesn’t sacrifice sound to accomplish those accommodations. High arching lends the violin a sweeter yet still well defined sound with a brighter edge. An excellent step-up that hits above its price point and without breaking the bank. Highly shaded and throughly antiqued in the style of Caussin from Neufchâteau, France which became popular if not prevalent from the 1890’s.
