An Interesting Gold & Ox Horn Mounted Viola Bow; Possibly By Frank Henderson.
An Unusual Gold and Ox Horn Mounted Viola Bow; Possibly by Frank Henderson, with an ivory tip plate, whalebone lapping, and leather thumb grip. The head appears to be rather loosely inspired by Kittel, showing off the quality and figuration of this pernambuco selection.
At a balanced weight of 74 grams, this viola bow pulls a robust, almost raw tone that is rich in color with clearly ringing overtones; fantastic tracking and contact, decidedly easy to shape blossoms of sound, with an even, punchy quality to the start of articulations and effortlessly consistent spiccato.
