Gabriel studied with Alfons Riedel in Bubenreuth, working in his shop for five years before opening his own workshop in 1987.
He has been making bows in the tradition of 19th and 20th century masters such as Sartory, Peccatte, Lamy, and Gaulard.
He has received numerous awards, certificates, and commendations, including a Gold Medal for a viola bow at Mittenwald in 1993, and another Gold Medal for a cello bow in 1996 at the VSA Competition.
