A Modern American Violin by Aaron Work, 2021.
An aesthetically pleasing modern American violin from Indiana, Pennsylvania by the hand of Aaron Work, with a back length of exactly 356mm. This pandemic era violin from 2021 features attractive wood choice and a tastefully antiqued varnish of commendable depth and transparency - full of personality and deeply textured, both in voice and appearance, with stylized f holes and a well executed scroll that evokes the modern Italian school. Recommended for the advancing musician and the collegiate level.
Aaron Work spent his early years playing American folk and classical music and eventually went into carpentry under the guidance of his father, Richard Work. After years of acquiring tool skills during the day and honing his music skills at night, he began studying luthiery in 2016 under Robert H. Gordon III, second generation violin maker of Belsano, Pa, where his training included instrument and bow repair as well as the old world techniques of violin making. Aaron builds handmade, unique instruments in his private studio in Indiana, Pa.
