A Good Contemporary Italian Violin By Chiara Scardinale, 2025.
Chiara Scardinale (b. 1996) went to a school of the arts before enrolling in the Civic School of Lutherie in Milan, from which she graduated in 2020. She further enriched her studies with courses under Enrico Allorto and Carlos Arcieri at the Perosi Academy in Biella. From 2019 to 2023 she worked for Giacomo Rocca in Turin, commuting between there in Milan to maintain work for Gibertoni & Nalin, and Pierre Bohr. She continues to collaborate and attend courses with other craftsman, most recently studying setup with Olivier Legrand in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her instruments are drawing increasing recognition since the 2022 VSA competition.
This instrument from 2025 is a fine representation of her work and clearly demonstrates the marriage of graceful aesthetic and technical precision withwhich she imbues each of her creations.
