An attractive turn of the century violin, with a made in Nippon label in its belly - a hallmark of the time, when foreign goods were frowned upon culturally. In the late 19th century, Japan ‘retained a slew of French luthiers to train their local artisans. The early instruments retain many French characteristics. A decent student violin.
