A German Violin Bow Branded “Tourte.”

Branded “Germany” to the audience side of the handle and “Tourte” to the player side, this bow recently underwent a complete facelift: A replacement frog, period appropriate and a reasonably good fit, in ivory and ebony, with nickel linings, silk on silk two-toned lapping, and lizard skin thumb grip, thorough cleaning, and rehair. Nimble and sprightly with just enough strength to meet the demands of the player; most suitable for an advancing student or as a secondary/outdoor bow for a professional, with a balanced weight of 59.5 grams.
