A Contemporary Polish American Viola by Wladek Stopka, 2013. 15.5”
Native to Krakow, Poland, Wladek Stopka has been crafting violin family instruments since 1978. He emigrated to the United States in 1989 and has spent the last thirty odd years making fine instruments in his Chicago workshop. Like his other violas, this 15.5” instrument is a personal model, crafted with choice European tonewoods and meticulously poured over, down to the smallest detail, featuring a well shaded and highly translucent oil varnish. His instruments are well regarded and are a fine choice for conservatory students and entry level professionals alike.
