A Modest Violin Bow From The Production Of Prosper Colas.

Prosper Colas was born in Coincourt France and moved to Paris in 1871, presumably to join the employ of J.B. Vuillaume. Widely varied work ranging from nickel mounted Brazilwood creations branded “P.C.,” such as this bow, to artisanal tools worth several thousands, stamped with his full name. This bow weighs 59.1 grams and likely dates to the last decade of the 19th century, representing an excellent opportunity to own a well performing French bow at a mere fraction of the typical cost.
