A Good Octagonal Silver Mounted Cello Bow From Marco Raposo

Previously an achetier for Water Violet Music, Marco Raposo established his own workshop in 1995. The workshop, home to five bow makers now, is located in the mountains of Brazil’s Atlantic forest, the heartland for the Pernambuco tree from which the finest bows are made. Mindful of conservation efforts, the workshop specializes in reclaimed wood, carefully producing handmade bows for the violin family of instruments, with more affordable options utilizing semi-finished frogs from Bogaro & Clemente in Italy. With the recent shortage in ethically sourced pernambuco, finely crafted cello bows such as this are well in demand. Silver mounted, with silver lapping and matching three-piece button, a Parisian eye with sterling ring, and a final balanced weight of 81.7 grams; producing an exceptionally well defined quality of sound, crisp, with clear articulation.
