A Good English Violin Bow By Ex-Hill Maker, Garner Wilson

Garner Wilson (1944-2013) was one of the last master craftsmen to be trained at the famed W.E. Hill& Sons, where he began working at just 16 years old, and under the tutorage of both William Watson and Arthur Bultitude, with input from William Retford. He established himself in Suffolk in 1969 and settled in Dingwall, Scotland exactly 20 years later. Wilson’s Hill bows are stamped with the number 12, and his personal work is easily recognizable both by a distinct style and his trademark double silver ring eyes to the faces of his frogs. Perfectly balanced at 62 grams.
