Fully lined, gold mounted, with matching three-piece button, gold tinsel on black silk lapping, with a black lizard leather thumb grip, and mammoth ivory tip facing; effortless response, perfectly consistent, and balanced at 72 grams, featuring an octagonal pernambuco stick of attractive figuration. Although he was born in Australia, Irish Achetier, Niall Flemming has earned a reputation as a fine craftsman with a distinctive style. His interest in lutherie began with violin making when he was 16 and prompted him to pursue and ultimately complete the violin-making course in Newark, Nottinghamshire, UK in 2010. Although he began focusing on bows during the course, whilst working at Stringers Violin Shop, Niall subsequently joined Maison Bernard in Brussels, apprenticing with the renowned Pierre Guillaume. He continued refining his craft with the esteemed maker Noel Burke, and ultimately opened his own workshop in Kilkenny City, Ireland. He specializes in new making in the French style and the repair and restoration of bows for the quartet.
