John Vanderhorst began making and restoring bows in 1977, and began working with Canadian achetier, Arnold R. Bone the following year and until his mentor’s death in 2001. Vanderhorst opened his first shop in Newburyport Massachusetts in 1981 and eventually relocated to Southwestern New Hampshire. His bows are highly regarded for both their craftsmanship and performance. This highly characteristic representation of his work is silver mounted and finely balanced at exactly 81.2 grams.
