Silver & Ivory Wurlitzer Violin Bow, Probably Schuster.

A Fine mid-century German bow of beautiful pernambuco selection commissioned by and stamped for “Rembert Wurlitzer N.Y.” And further branded Germany to the underside of the handle behind the ivory frog. Silver mounted, with matching three piece ivory button, silver faceplate, and whalebone lapping with a black leather thumb grip and a perfectly balanced weight of 65.3 grams; beautiful choices for abalone, with a silver slide, larger pins, and a broad Parisian eye indicate the workmanship of Gothard Schuster when taking the profile and chamfers of the head into consideration.  Certainly pre-ban, and furthermore absolutely also made before 1968 and most likely just prior to WWII as well. This bow has immediately become one of my favorites and cannot be highly recommended enough to anyone looking for a true artist’s tool.
