A Special Edition Violin Bow by Vladimiros Sorokin-Andreou

n hailing from the atelier of Vladimiros Sorokin-Andreou in Larnaca, Cypress, a luthier and bow maker who specialized in sophisticated restorations and crafting highly distinctive creations under the pseudonym “Monomax.” His brand mark “Vladimir Monomax a Scala” (under the frog) confirms the authenticity of the stick, and the Monomax crown signet ornaments the corner of the fleur inlaid frog. The stick is also stamped at the handle in homage to Hill and Sons; a special edition bow from a set of only three: gold, silver, and this nickel mounted bow. This is of particular significance because Sorokin-Andreou studied with Arthur Bultitude. Unfortunately, in his later years, his bows are simply no longer matching up to the quality of his earlier work.
