A Good Violin by Chen Guang-Yue, 1988.

Chen Guang-Yue of Beijing China apprenticed with his father Chen Chao Xuan from the age of 9 and represents the fifth generation of instrument makers from his family. Chen recieved a contract from Texas A & M University for acoustical research with Dr. Joseph Nagyvary, for which this violin was made in 1988 and subsequently regraduated in 1990. It has remained under single ownership since and represents not only their combined research, but the meticulous attention to detail and refined craftsmanship for which Chen developed an international reputation as an artisan. The violin has been refreshed and is now available for sale for the first time in 38 years.
