A Good Bohemian Viola, Mid 19th c. 15.9”
From the final inward turn of the innermost volute of the scroll, an altogether striking appearance and a voice of matching distinction, this unlabeled viola is of speculative provenance, but likely mid 19th century Bohemian. Formerly belonging to a student of Leonid Kogan, this lovely instrument was my mainstay from 2006 to 2013 and has remained in the collection for sentimental reasons. Characteristically mellow, sweet, and clear. Offered publicly for sale for the first time in 14 years.
