A Good German ‘Birds-Eye’ Maggini Violin, Early 20th Century.

Whereas many “Maggini” or “Da Salo” patterns run large, and sometimes to excess, this early 20th century violin modeled after Maggini measures in at a more desirable 359mm and features a beautiful selection of tone-woods: tight birds-eye figuration of mating materials for the two-piece back, ribs, and head. Resonant, even grained spruce for the top. The details of craftsmanship too, elevated above the typical production of like from the era. Presenting in good condition, and boasting an extra turn to the volutes of the scroll, with well considered arching and gracefully executed f-holes.
