A German “Kriml” Violin, Circa 1931-1939.

Jan Kriml was a line of trade instruments imported from various manufacturers in Germany and Czechoslovakia, sold primarily in Chicago. This example was of the better German variety, made in the 1930’s. It has since had bass-bar improved and been entirely revarnished by Bill Weaver for a more attractive, antique aesthetic. Modest, but altogether competitive against modern alternatives at the price point.
