Working out of Sofia, Bulgarian violin maker Miroslav Tsonev has made a name for himself for his exacting workmanship. His instruments are always crisp, clean, highly detailed, and easily recognizable by a deep red varnish over a golden yellow ground, rich with subtleties of shading.



These instruments are fierce competitors in their price range and are characterized by clarity and easy response. Though this 17 year old viola (made in 2003) can certainly boast these qualities, it’s matured voice also posses depth and a ringing sonority. And, it’s relatively slender shoulders Make it easy to navigate and maneuver across the registers.



Equipped with a Wittner composite tailpiece for tuning comfort and ebony fittings with gold collars and matching pips; finished with a Larsen “A” to top a set of Spirocore strings.
